Halifax Regional Municipality Crime Stats

Policing in and around the Halifax Regional Municipality is divided between the Halifax Regional Police and RCMP. HRM Police cover most of Halifax, Dartmouth and Bedford and the RCMP cover Hammonds Plains/Tantallon, Fall River/ Waverley area, Cole Harbour (Colby Village/Forest Hills etc) as well as the Sackville area.The HRM Police Areas are divided into three zones. A description of these zones is below.

HRM Police Areas:
1)East Includes: Most areas of Dartmouth including Westphal, Woodlawn, Albro Lake ( Not include areas thought of as Dartmouth such as Cole Harbour which is covered by RCMP not HRM police)
2)West Includes: Bedford, Clayton Park, Fairview, Purcell's Cove, Spryfield, Herring Cove Rd.
3)Central Includes: The areas that would be considered Halifax Peninsula such as South End, North End, West End, Quinpool and Connaught.
