Like many areas described in real estate several different communities are all referred to as one. Beechville, Lakeside and Timberlea, although three different areas that adjoin each other, are often all called Timberlea.
Timberlea is an excellent affordable residential area on the fringe of Halifax. It is located off exit 3 of the #103 Hwy on the
St.
Margaret's Bay Road , just past Bayer's Lake Park. It is a good commute
to Halifax of about 20 minutes. It is very close to excellent shopping in
Bayer's Lake Park where you'll find the big
box stores such as Costco, Winner's, Old Navy and many more. Timberlea is
growing and with it so are the amenities. A beautiful school was recently
built in Beechville in Beechville Estates Subdivision. Ridgecliff Middle
School is one of the nicest school facilities found anywhere. A fabulous
walking trail has been developed along an abandoned rail line. The line
is called " BLT RAILS TO TRAILS" and
is a wonderful place to walk, ride a bike or ride your ATV.(You can learn

It is only a few minute drive to the Mainland Common North recreation area
that has an indoor soccer field, two year round outdoor soccer fields with
artificial turf and is the home of a 176,000 sq ft recreation center called
the Canada Games Center. An indoor tennis facility located in Bayer's Lake
is also a few minutes away.
There
is a wide range of housing available in the area. There is everything from
affordable semi-detached to some larger executive type homes. New homes
are also available in the area. There are several excellent subdivisions
in the area such as Beechville Estates, Glengary Estates, Timberlea Village,
Greenwood Heights, Governor's Glen and others.See the Timberlea
Map for a complete list.The Timberlea/Beechville area has become one of metros most popular residential communities particularly with military buyers. It is a convenient area with a reasonable commute to Halifax. This area is an excellent choice to purchase a home.
