OVERVIEW BEECHVILLE/TIMBERLEA

The Beechville/Lakeside/Timberlea area is a popular and affordable residential area on the fringe of Halifax. It is located off exit 3 of the #103 Hwy on the St. Margaret's Bay Road , just past Bayer's Lake Park. It is a good commute to Halifax of about 20 minutes. In real estate when people refer to Timberlea they are often describing three areas that are joined together. Beechville, Lakeside and Timberlea are also called BLT.

There is a wide range of housing available in the area. There is everything from affordable semi-detached to some larger executive type homes. New homes are also available in the area. Brunello Estates is the newest subdivision. This subdivision has an 18 hole golf course, called Links of Brunello, in the subdivision. Brunello Estates residents can buy yearly memberships at discounted prices. The golf course opened in 2015.

There is a good school system in BLT that consists a few elementary schools, a middle school and a junior high school.  Children are bussed to Tantallon to Sir John A Macdonald High School.

The area is very close to excellent shopping in Bayer's Lake Park where you'll find the big box stores such as Costco, Winner's, Old Navy and many more.

There are some recreation facilities in the area and excellent facilities close by. A fabulous walking trail has been developed along an abandoned rail line. The trail is called " BLT RAILS TO TRAILS" and is a wonderful place to walk, ride a bike or ride your ATV. The BLT area is only a 10 minute drive to the Mainland Common North recreation area  in Clayton Park where the Canada Games Center, indoor and outdoor soccer fields and more are located.

The Timberlea or BLT area has become one of metros most popular residential communities particularly with military buyers. It is a convenient area with a reasonable commute to Halifax.
