Location: The subdivision is located
off the Bedford Hwy. just before Bedford when coming from Halifax. It
is about 20 kms to downtown Halifax.
Description: Royale Hemlocks and Highland Ridge Subdivisions are attached
and it is hard to know when you are leaving one and entering the other.
The area is conveniently located minutes from downtown Halifax. It is
a mixture of single detached houses, semi-detached, townhouses and apartment
style condominiums .Smaller serviced lots. Some lots have view of Bedford
basin.
Age of houses: Houses were built here from 2001 on. Some new construction
still going on in subdivision. Advantages: Easy commute to downtown Halifax. Close to Bedford
and short drive to most amenities. Beaubassin Elementary School (french)
in the subdivision. New french high school to be built in 2009/2010 in
subdivision. Part of the subdivision backs on a 197 acre wooded park called
Hemlock Ravine. Several playgrounds in subdivision. One on Transom Drive
has tennis courts and soon to have a soccer field as well. Larry Utech
Drive is being extended to a new exit to #102 highway(Bi-hi) which is
expected to be completed by 2010/2011. Metro Transit bus to downtown Halifax
comes right into the subdivision. Style of housing available: All single family detached houses are
available here . Mostly two storey homes. Many larger two storey homes
available in this area. Also semi-detached, townhouse and condominiums
in the area. Some of the streets in subdivisions: Royale Hemlocks--Starboard,
Larry Utech, Cutter, Amirault....Highland Ridge-Bosun,Outrigger,Fleetview
Schools: Ecole Beaubassin
french school in the subdivision. Grosvenor Wentworth P-6, Clayton Park
Junior High 7-9 and Halifax West for 10-12.
