I grew up in Bedford, Nova Scotia and attended Charles P. Allen High School at the Rocky Lake Drive location. I suppose this means that I have always been a CPA cheetah. I received a Bachelor in Science from Mount Saint Vincent University with a major in mathematics and minors in both Chemistry and French. I also completed a Diploma of Proficiency in French and a Bachelor of Education in secondary math and science at Mount Saint Vincent University. After graduation I was hired by the Halifax Regional School Board and I have been teaching for this board ever since. I spent my first few years teaching at Leslie Thomas Junior High School in Sackville, but I welcomed the opportunity return to Charles P. Allen for its last year at the Rocky Lake Drive location. I now consider the new Charles P. Allen my permanent home. While working with the Halifax Regional School Board I have completed a Graduate Diploma in Educational Technology and have begun to work on a Master of Education in Curriculum Studies with a concentration in math, science and technology. This year I will be teaching teaching online courses for the Nova Scotia Virtual School first semester, and science in the classroom second semester.

Outside of the classroom I am involved with several extra-curricular activities. I am the staff advisor for the CPA Students’ Council. I organize the school’s involvement with the Nova Scotia Secondary Schools Students’ Association (NSSSA) and take groups of student leaders to regional and provincial leadership conferences. I am also have the pleasure of sitting on the steering committee for Canadian Student Leadership Conference will take several students each September. I also have an interest in fish keeping and I manage the fresh water and salt water ecosystems within the building.
